SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS AND SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS: A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO DIAGNOSIS, MANAGEMENT, AND PATIENT CARE

The rationale for the event focusing on systemic sclerosis from Science to Clinical Practice, is to ensure that the latest scientific insights are integrated into clinical care for better disease management, patient outcomes, and quality of life. It also underscores the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, patient-centered approaches, and ongoing education in addressing the complexities of this challenging disease.
The event will be rooted on items that may bridge the gap between scientific research and patient care. We know how much Systemic sclerosis is a complex autoimmune disease characterized by fibrosis, vascular abnormalities, and immune dysregulation, and its management poses challenges that require a multidisciplinary approach. Therefore, the sessions will explore advancements in Pathophysiology and Basic Science, to achieve the understanding of the underlying disease mechanisms to developing effective treatments. The areas of Fibrosis Pathways, Vascular Dysfunction and Immune alterations will be explored.
The Clinical Guidelines and Best Practices will be definitively presented, addressing the disease complexity including Multidisciplinary Care, Risk Stratification, Monitoring and Early Intervention and Patient-Centered Care and Quality of Life.
The increasing complexity of treatment options, fostering an informed and collaborative decision-making process between patients and clinicians will be a crucial item which will be developed and will be the the backbone to provide the state of the art and the emerging Therapeutic Targets and Treatments that will include Anti-fibrotic agents , Immunomodulatory therapies and precision medicine approaches that tailor treatments based on specific biomarkers, disease subsets, or genetic predispositions. On top of these sessions, the conclusion lecture will be delivered on the innovative CarT cellular therapies which today presents a significant hope to achieve a controlled disease remission.
